Ultrafast Microscopy and Spectroscopy

The Harel and Dantus labs have multiple post-doctoral positions open in ultrafast microscopy and spectroscopy.  The positions are funded by a recently awarded Keck Foundation* Grant. The successful candidate will work on developing a novel super-resolution microscope which aims to achieve the resolution of electron microscopy using extremely short pulses of light without the need for special labeling.

*The Keck Foundation was founded with the goal of generating far-reaching benefits for humanity. It encourages projects that are high-risk with the potential for transformative impact. "High-risk" comprises a number of factors, including questions that push the edge of the field, present unconventional approaches to intractable problems, or challenge the prevailing paradigm.  Please visit http://www.wmkeck.org for more information.

Requirements:

Applicants should be highly motivated researchers with experience and publications in ultrafast science. A PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optics, or a related field. Familiarity with one or more of the following areas is preferred: ultrafast lasers, fiber lasers, spectroscopy, imaging, and programming in at least one of LabView/C++/MATLAB/Python. Applicants should be able to work independently as well as working in an interdisciplinary team.

About the groups

You will join an enthusiastic research group with outstanding reputation in ultrafast science and a worldwide network of collaborators.  The Harel Lab (deepspeclab.com)Dantus Research Group (msu.edu)
