Getting Help
- Change your chemistry password.

Chemistry Portal
- The portal is a way to access many chemistry applications and other links for the department.
Chemistry SharePoint
- The department SharePoint site includes How To guides (like how to Map/Mount a network drive), Meeting Minutes/Recordings, Software/Site Licenses, etc.
Chemistry Directory Listing / Profile
- You can make basic changes to your Chemistry Directory profile, which includes the NatSci directory.
- Login to the Chemistry Portal, click on My Directory Profile.
- If you are not showing up in the directory, you probably have your directory information restricted at MSU. Check the article "How to Change or Restrict Your Directory Information at MSU" for more details.
Conference Room Projectors
- Conference Rooms 481W, 481E, 581W, and 581E all have projectors mounted in the ceiling.

Microsoft 365, including OneDrive and Teams
MSU VPN
- Access to some IT systems and applications are limited to campus connections. When working off-campus or on the MSU wireless network, use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) software to connect securely to the campus network.

Multi-Factor Authentication
- Some applications – for example, the MSU Enterprise Business System (EBS) and the VPN – require you to setup and use multi-factor authentication for additional security. You can receive text messages to your cell phone, or download the Okta Verify app for faster push notifications. For more details go to https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/setting-up-the-okta-verify-app.
Poster Printing
- Chemistry IT staff will print posters for Chemistry faculty, staff, and students. There is no cost for this service. We do NOT print for other MSU departments or units.

Security Tips

- Watch out for “phishing” emails and other scams! MSU IT will never ask for your password, social security number, or other sensitive information.
- When in doubt, or if something seems a bit off, just ask! Better to be overly cautious.
- If a known phishing email is received, please forward to abuse@msu.edu.
