Polymer Synthesis

The Chiu Research Group (https://www.chemistry.msu.edu/faculty-research/faculty-members/chiu-melanie.aspx) has recently moved to the Department of Chemistry at Michigan State University and is recruiting postdoctoral associates with experience in polymer synthesis and/or polymer characterization. The Chiu group utilizes light as a tool for polymer synthesis to access new materials or those that are difficult to obtain by conventional methods, then studies the properties of these materials in collaboration with other groups. We are particularly interested in using light to control: (i) polymer dispersity; (ii) polymer tacticity; and (iii) catalytic activity and selectivity in single-chain polymer nanoparticles.
