Prof. Aaron Odom launches 'Animated About Chemistry' series
MSU Chemistry professor Aaron Odom has teamed up with science illustrator Matt Bohan for a new video series called "Animated About Chemistry."
The goal of the channel is to bring science-related topics to life, using animation, and hopefully make them a little clearer, while perhaps bringing in new perspectives. The intent is to cover topics that will range from the relatively simple concepts you might find in high school chemistry all the way to topics on the cutting edge of science.

"We started this project because there are quite a few channels dedicated to math and physics discussing more advanced projects, like how AI programs are structured. The majority of content on YouTube is dedicated to high school and early college content, like various General Chemistry topics or sophomore Organic," Odom said.
"I thought it would be fun to have a channel mostly dedicated to more advanced teaching content and active areas of research. However, my sister is a high school chemistry teacher, and she has made a few requests as well, so there will be some General Chemistry-level content on occasion."
Odom is professor and associate chair for operations and professional development in MSU Chemistry, while Bohan is an accomplished arist, illustrator, and photographer.
To date, the series includes videos on symmetry and higher dimensions, with entries on Avogadro’s number and molecular orbital theory on the way.
