Theoretical (quantum) chemistry

There is an opening for a postdoctoral research associate in the research group of Angela K. Wilson in the Department of Chemistry at Michigan State University.   The position is in

  • Theoretical chemistry algorithm development in quantum dynamics/quantum mechanics, with a focus on transition metal and heavy element chemistry.
  • The candidates must have their primary doctoral work in the design and development of theoretical chemistry methods, whether in quantum dynamics or ab initio electron correlation methods or quantum mechanics for molecules
  • Individuals with a focus on the application (and not on the development) of quantum mechanics or quantum dynamics methods will not be considered. 
  • A very strong skill set in the development of methods using python, C, C++, and/or Fortran is essential. 

The position is for one year, but with the possibility of renewal, based upon mutual agreement and availability of funds.  Preferred start date:  Fall 2022.
