Machine learning/AI + computational chemistry

There is an opening for a postdoctoral research associate in the research group of Angela K. Wilson in the Department of Chemistry at Michigan State University.   The position is in

  • Machine learning/AI in combination with quantum chemistry or molecular dynamics, towards development of ML/AI-based strategies and prediction of molecular properties.
  • The candidates must have their primary doctoral work in the development, implementation, and/or utilization of ML/AI approaches in computational chemistry, focused on molecules.  
  • Individuals with a focus on simpler approaches, such as regression, will not be considered.
  • A very strong skill set in ML/AI strategies is essential. 

The position is for one year, but with the possibility of renewal, based upon mutual agreement and availability of funds.  Preferred start date:  Early 2023, though fall 2022 is possible.
