tennis, and hiking. His research primarily focuses on ammonia "splitting" for renewable
energy conversion.

Mona is currently a fifth year graduate student in the Smith group. She enjoys watching
movies, but also going to the gym. Her project is based around synthesizing Ru– based
catalysts for ammonia "splitting".

Pauline is a fourth year graduate student who enjoys cooking and going to local breweries.
She's currently focused on developing ligands that help facilitate chelate-directed C–H
borylation on substituted arenes.

Chris is a fourth year graduate student in the Smith lab. He enjoys playing rocket
league among other PC games, and is a cat lover. His current research focuses on enhancing
steric selectivity for C–H borylation of fluorinated and cyanated aromatics and heteroaromatics.

in hopes that he will achieve his Ph.D. and grow more as a chemist. His research focuses
on studying catalysts for ammonia "splitting". He hopes he can contribute to this
world by doing chemistry.
