Smith Research Group

Mission

We believe that Chemistry is the science that will transform society in the 21st century. Research projects in the Smith group range from the development of transition metal catalyzed synthesis in C–H borylation to polymer chemistry to energy conversion and storage with synthesis being the common thread that unites these efforts. Overviews of each of these pursuits are highlighted under our Research tab.

Group meetings are every Wednesday at 6:00 pm. If a particular project interests you, please contact Mitch or one of the graduate students for more information on our sub-group meetings!

The Smith research group supports freedom of expression and is committed to battling discrimination of any type to make our community stronger.
