Professor Warren Beck receives Teaching Prize
Professor Warren Beck has been selected as a recipient of the 2015 NatSci Teaching Prize. The College of Natural Science Teaching Prize recognizes teaching excellence, as judged by outstanding student or peer teaching evaluations, use of innovative and research validated teaching methods, leadership in important course or curricular revision or development, and/or mentoring of other faculty in teaching.
Professor Beck's ongoing efforts to revitalize the teaching of physical chemistry to third-year students with majors in biochemistry and health-related majors and his successful proposal that led to the creation of a REAL classroom in Chemistry were among Warren's accomplishments cited in his Teaching Prize nomination. Professor Beck and the other CNS Teaching Prize recipients will be honored at the Fall NatSci College Meeting on November 20 at 3:00 pm in 1200 MPS.
