Evert Njomen receives Fellowship

Evert Njomen (Tepe lab) is a recipient of the 2016 NIH T32 Fellowship through the MSU Integrative Pharmacological Sciences Training Program (IPSTP). As part of this Fellowship, she will receive 2 years of full financial support and will participate in a number of enrichment activities including monthly Communication Skills and Professional Development forum, monthly student-run IPSTP journal club, bootcamps on Drug Discovery and In vivo Pharmacology, networking field trip to companies or institutes and more. Her current research is focused on the mechanism of action of several new classes of proteasome modulators to treat neurodegenerative diseases.  She is also working on the mechanism of action of a specific class of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) proteasome inhibitors to treat TB in collaboration with the Abramovitch lab.
