Chemistry Graduate Student Awarded Prestigious NIH Fellowship

Taylor Fiolek, a graduate student working with Chemistry Professor Jetze Tepe, is the recipient of a 2018 NIH T32 Fellowship through the MSU Integrative Pharmacological Sciences Training Program (IPSTP). Taylor’s research is focused on the development of small molecules capable of preventing proteotoxic stresses that lead to neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease.  As part of this fellowship he will receive 2 years of full financial support. In addition, this training grant will allow him to participate in professional development forums, NIH grant writing workshops, drug discovery bootcamps, monthly student-run journal clubs, field trips to pharmaceutical companies and networking opportunities.
