Xuefei Huang is the recpient of the 2024 Technology Transfer Achievement Award from the MSU Innovation Center. This award recognizes Huang's work in the development of Q Beta: an antigen delivery platform with applications for anti-cancer, anti-bacterial, and other vaccines.

Michigan State students Libby Ashby and Aaron Philip have earned the prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, becoming the university’s 54th and 55th Goldwater Scholars. Ashby is a student in the laboratory of MSU Chemistry's Angela K. Wilson, becoming the group's 10th awardee.

LBC alum Keenan Noyes is a Spartan through and through. He graduated from MSU in 2022 with a Ph.D. in chemistry and in 2016, with a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and biotechnology from Lyman Briggs College. Recently, Noyes was awarded a NSF STEMEd Postdoctoral Research Fellowship.

Michigan State University researchers Piotr Piecuch and Guowei Wei were formally honored as MSU Research Foundation Professors at an investiture ceremony held on Nov. 14. Piecuch and his team develop quantum-mechanical theories and computational tools that enable them and researchers worldwide to probe a wide range of questions in chemistry and atomic, molecular and nuclear physics. Wei’s group combines expertise in artificial intelligence with mathematical tools from topology and algebra to develop innovative approaches to solving medical issues, such as drug discovery and predicting viral mutations.

Michigan State University chemist Tuo Wang, an associate professor in MSU’s College of Natural Science was honored as the inaugural Carl H. Brubaker, Jr. Endowed Professor at an investiture ceremony held Sept. 28 at MSU’s Wharton Center. Wang is a preeminent researcher in the application of sensitivity-enhanced solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance to biomaterials. The endowed professorship was established in 2020 by James Hoeschele, an MSU chemistry alumnus, in honor of his graduate mentor, Carl H. Brubaker.
