Professor Greg Swain and his group will be active in research conducted at the new MSU-Fraunhofer Center for Coatings and Diamond Technologies. The Center, originally established in 2003 as the Fraunhofer Center for Carbon Coatings and Laser Processing, has been an important driver of diamond materials research across campus for over a decade.  The reorganized Center and investment ($5M) from MSU and Fraunhofer will position MSU as a world leader in  diamond synthesis and diamond power electronics.  The Swain group's work will expand the scope of activities at the Center to include development diamond-based electrochemical devices and engineered systems for health and the environment.
