Microsoft Windows

  1. Download the appropriate installer for Windows (7, 8, 8.1, 10). 
     
  2. Launch the appropriate installer program for your version of Windows.
     
  3. Click Next:

  4. Click on Install:

  5. If prompted with a User Access Control prompt click YesNote: You may have to enter your computer's administrator username and password to allow the application to install, based on your computers security settings.
     
  6. When the installer is done, click Finish:

  7. Navigate to the System Tray at the lower right corner of your screen and click on the Pulse Secure Icon:

  8.  Select Open Pulse Secure:

  9. Click on the "+" button next to Connections, and enter the following information when prompted:

    • Type should default to:  "Policy Secure (UAC) or Connect Secure (VPN)".
    • Choose a connection name for the VPN connection in the Name section.  (Maybe use "MSU Chemistry VPN".)
    • Enter sslvpn.chemistry.msu.edu in the Server URL section:

  1. Click on Add. You  should now see the VPN in the Connections list. 
     
  2. Click on the Connect button next to your new entry:

  3. Enter in your CHEMISTRY ACCOUNT User Name and Password:

  4. You should now be connected to the Chemistry VPN.
     
  5. To disconnect, click the Pulse Secure icon in the system tray at the lower right corner of your desktop, click the Chemistry VPN item and then click on Disconnect:

  6. The VPN may warn you if your session lasts a very long time; the Extend Session item seen here may be used to prolong your VPN usage if you receive a warning that your session is about to expire.
