Established in 1998, the Chemical Sciences Roundtable was created to be a neutral source of communication between all segments of the chemical sciences community, a major part of U.S. industry, employment and trade. Maleczka will join a prestigious group of leaders from the chemistry and chemical engineering fields as well as government representatives.

Icer Student Highlights: Tayeb Kakeshpour

Tayeb’s research generally focuses on hydrogen bonds, aiming to understand the factors that determine their strength in various chemical contexts. He has shown that hydrogen bonds can enhance or inhibit “aromaticity”, a special mode of stabilization common to many organic and biomolecules; the result is an ability to purposefully tune the molecules’ “stickiness”.
