Chemistry Conferences
There are many opportunities for interested students to gain professional
experience and exposure at professional conferences. The following
paragraphs and links describe several local, regional, and national
conferences that have been attended by students in the MSU Chemistry
Department. Be sure to contact someone in the Undergraduate Chemistry
Office for more infomration if you are interested in attending and/or
presenting a paper or research results at one of these conferences.
MSU Undergraduate Research Forum (URF)
URF
is an MSU College of Natural Science conference that is open to all MSU
undergraduate students who would like to present their research results to
the MSU scientific community. All undergraduate students are encouraged to
attend.
Great Lakes College Chemistry Conference (GLCCC)
The Great Lakes College Chemistry Conference, commonly known as
GLCCC, now has both research and
career planning components.
The
GLCCC Research
Program is a regional undergraduate research conference for undergraduate
students in chemistry and chemistry-related fields of study.
The
GLCCC Career Day aims to bring together professional chemists and chemistry students for a day of
interactions in which: students learn more about jobs and careers for which
their chemistry background is needed; professional chemists meet their future
employees and colleagues; and companies have the opportunity to meet informally
with students who are currently or are soon-to-be in the job market.
National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)
NCUR is a national annual conference
at which undergraduate students from a variety of disciplines present their
research.
American Chemical Society (ACS) Meetings
The
ACS holds two national meetings and
several regional meetings each year. For more information about upcoming
ACS meetings visit the ACS website.
Bienniel Chemistry Conference on Education (BCCE)
The
BCCE is a conference
held every two years with a focus on chemical education.
