Program:

The Department of Chemistry at Michigan State University and the National Science Foundation has offered a 10-week program of Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) during the summer for many years. Students participate in research projects under the guidance of a research faculty advisor. The focus of the program is the synthesis, modeling and characterization of materials.

Eligibility:

Students who will have completed their junior year (or equivalent) in the current Spring Semester, with a grade point average in chemistry greater than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, will be given preference.

Support:

Students accepted in the program will receive a stipend of at least $3,000 for the 10-week period. Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to $250.  Room and Board will be provided on campus at MSU for up to $1,750 for the 10-week period from June 1 to August 6.
