SMART 1000 CCD Single Crystal Diffractometer

The CCS has one Smart 1000 CCD as pictured using a 3-axis goinometer and has an Oxford 600 low temperature device and a camera for viewing of the crystals.

APEX II CCD Single Crystal Diffractometer

The Center recently replaced the 1K CCD diffractometer With a brand new 3-axis goinometerAPEX II diffraction system. This uses an Oxford Cyrosystream 600 series low temperature device. Each diffractometer is equiped with a Pentium PC to control the diffractometer.

The lab has two microscopes for routine mounting of samples. One microscope is equipped with a high resolution color camera to allow viewing of the crystals for teaching purposes.

The Center has changed to using XP on the computers for all the major computational aspects of the Center. The center purchased a 2.4 GHz Duo Processor computer for data anaylsis.

The Center also has a model drill and accessories to build scale models of the crystal structures.
